Having a professionally designed website is essential to remaining competitive in today’s market. A good marketing agency website should lead by example. Having a great look and feel is as important as demonstrating processes that convert visitors into customers. For marketing agencies, the core of a good website is showcasing a portfolio, introducing the team, and creating landing pages that convert.
Planning a new website for your digital agency can be daunting. There isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution, but there are a few basic functions and content areas you should include to make it an effective marketing tool. Here's how you can create a marketing agency website with the Sitebuilder tool.
Choose the marketing website template
Choose Selma or Jasper templates in the Template gallery. These designs have been created specifically with the digital marketing agency's needs in mind. If you already have a website with a different template, you can reset it and change the template.
Hover over the template and click Use this template. Follow the steps of the Site Setup Wizard and enter the information about your digital agency.
Your new marketing website template comes pre-populated with demo content and images so you can focus on setting up your most essential content.
Customize the header
Your site header contains your website name, logo, and navigation.
You can customize the following settings of your header:
A website name: enter the website name in Website settings. You can disable the Website name option if your logo already contains the name of your agency.
A logo: the logo is very important for your branding. You can add a logo in your Website settings. If you want to resize the logo, check out this tutorial.
Social media icons: add your social media links in the Website settings and they will automatically appear in the header.
Business phone number: Include the phone number you want people to call for marketing project inquiries. Other header block designs contain a clickable button that can take your potential clients to your contact form.
Once you are done customizing the header, continue to the Cover block.
Customizing the marketing agency cover
Your cover image sets the tone to your digital marketing website. Use this block to showcase your brand identity and highlight your unique selling points such as the services you provide or your industry expertise.
You can customize the following elements of your cover:
Block title, subtitle, description: use these content elements to share your marketing agency's mission, highlight your services and commitments, accentuate your strengths.
Primary and secondary buttons: encourage the visitor to take action and get in touch with you, or to learn more and visit About us page or another block. Customize links in buttons according to your website strategy.
Adding the description of marketing services
You can highlight the services your marketing agency delivers in the Services block. Most likely, your template already contains it:
To add your own description of services and unique features, click on the demo text and type in or paste your own content. You can also replace icons and customize links to other blocks or pages. If you need more elements to showcase additional features or services, you can add more block elements that you can customize with icons and your own content.
Adding an About Us section
A well-crafted About Us section or a page can help you build lasting relationships with potential marketing agency clients. You have two ways of adding this information:
1. As a block on your marketing website landing page: In the Block Gallery, navigate to the About block section and choose a block that suits your needs. You can choose a block that contains an image, a video, and social media links.
2. As a separate About Us page: create a new page and add an About block to it.
The marketing website template already contains an About Us block. If you want to use another block, delete it and choose a new block from the Block Library.
Adding testimonials or case studies
Potential customers need to trust you before choosing to work with your marketing agency. Use your website to build your credibility and to share your expertise and track record keeping clients happy. A testimonials page is one of the most-visited pages on your marketing website. There are two ways of adding testimonials to your website:
1. As a block on your page: to replace an existing Testimonials block, delete it and choose a new one from the Block Library.
2. As a standalone page: create a new page and add as many Testimonials blocks as you wish.
3. Customize the Testimonials block with customer images and your own text. To replace an image, hover over the placeholder image and click on the Replace image icon.
If you provide case studies on your site, come up with a consistent, concise format to explain what problem your marketing agency solved and what process you went through to get there.
The customers who know your name can find your website. So optimizing your site so that people can find you through Google when they search “your company’s name” isn’t necessary. Of course you should include your company name on your website and in the metadata, but the fact is that your company’s name is going to be on your website so much that you probably can’t help but be found on Google for it. Instead, focus on generic terms that customers who may not know your business are searching for. For example, Vital Design wants to be found on Google for rather than just “Vital Design.”
4. Geographic information in your search engine optimization (SEO) efforts.
Most businesses with brick-and-mortar locations rely on customers within a certain geographic area. Fortunately, when most people search for a product or service, they include a location. For instance, if you need a plumber, you might search “plumber in Portsmouth, NH.” This is why you should use your location in page titles and other metadata as well as in the text that appears on your website. If you have two or three main cities that you serve, you should consider creating landing pages on your site for each location.
Adding a portfolio
Customers like pictures and they like to see what you’re doing. Show pictures of your friendly team and your clean, comfortable office. If you have a portfolio of marketing materials, showcase them using the Gallery block.
To customize images, hover over the image and click the Replace image icon. Your new image will be automatically adjusted to the design of the block.
Adding contact information
Provide your customers with a convenient way to get in touch with you. Add a Contact block on every page of your marketing website and create a new Contact Us page that would also appear in the navigation menu.
You can customize the map location and social media icons.
Once you are done making changes to your marketing website, click Publish to make changes live. You can continue working on your website after publishing.
